More Than One Kind of Southern
Stomp your boots and clap your hands at this year’s Songfest, a music festival celebrating Nashville artists this October 7th, 8th, and 9th. Take a quick trip from Islamorada to the neighboring island of Key Largo and enjoy these singer-songwriter performances in waterfront venues throughout the downtown area. Attending all of the events will also give you the opportunity to enjoy the food and drinks offered by local participating restaurants too. Unlike other music festivals, this one is also intimate enough for the artists to share the stories behind their songs, and make you feel like you’ve met the singers, rather than just listened to them. While the music may be from Tennessee, your tongue will love the Floridian fare ranging from fine dining at the Bayside Grille to fresh catch at The Pilot House (which also features a glass-bottom bar you can feed the fish from) and Key Largo Fisheries Café. Whether you want to check out one performance or three days of concerts, the Pelican Cove Inn will be waiting to help you unwind and relax at the end of the day.
